About Me.
I was born in the West Midlands. The eldest son of an English father and a German mother. From a very early age I was encouraged to read, and did so avidly from the age of four or five. My hero's as a teenager were MacLean, Innes, Bagley, and Wilbur Smith. Later I discovered Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Ken Follett and others. My greatest wish was to someday emulate these illustrious authors. However, as with everything in life, I had to earn a living, and had a family, which meant any aspirations I had to write, had to be put on the back burner.
As time passed, my family grew up and flew the nest. This and a redundancy/early retirement allowed me more time to devote to my dream of writing a novel.
Over the years since then, I have written about twelve novels mainly for my own pleasure. My main interest is in the ordinary man in the street put in extraordinary situations, fighting against all odds to get what he wants. My genre would fall under Thriller,/Suspense,/Psychological/Mystery.
I now use the pen name Peter Martin. This is my alter ego, for when I'm writing rather than at my day job.
