A good website is you want to get started. You submit the first five thousand words of something you're written, then read someone else's extract and critique it, to earn one point to allow someone else to do the same for you. It can be useful, and did help me improve my writing. You have to mark someone else's work from 1 to 5 stars, and then you're entered into a league table of top rated stories. The best of these are then critiqued by Orion Publishers or some other Publisher, The only bind is having to read so many other people's work, which can be time consuming.

Another peer site, where you can pitch your whole novel for people to read and comment on. You can review, back a book, rate it, and put it on a watchlist. That's all well and good, but to get noticed you have tout your own book about to as many people as you can, get them to read and review after promising to do the same for them. There have been some successes and the site is useful with plenty of writing tips, However if you don't want to spend all your time begging for people to back your book etc, try somewhere else.
